Making Jamie Tarence's Mississippi pot roast is incredibly easy. It cooks into pull-apart tender chunks of flavorful roast with a tangy bite thanks to the pepperoncinis.

Instant Pot Mississippi Roast

3 Lb. Roast – I prefer sirloin tip or shoulder roast

1 Packet of Au Jus Gravy Mix

1 Packet of Ranch Dressing mix

1 Jar of Pepperoncini Peppers

½ Jar Pepperoncini pepper juice

6- 8 Tbsp. Butter

Optional – Steamed potatoes or carrots



1. Turn your Instant Pot to Sauté and high.

2. Add 1 – 2 Tbsp. of olive oil and then sear your roast until all sides are golden brown.

3. Add your butter, Au Jus Gravy Mix, Ranch Dressing mix, ½ Jar of Pepperoncini Peppers and ½ Jar of Pepperoncini pepper juice to Instant Pot.

4. Set your Instant Pot to Pressure – High for 1 hour and press start.

5. If adding carrots or potatoes, pre-steam them while your roast is cooking and add them to your Instant Pot about 30 minutes prior to removing your meat.

6. Remove your roast from the Instant Pot and enjoy! It should be super tender and easily separated.
