DIY Candy Cane Ornaments

Maria Provenzano

Materials:

Acrylic paint or Pour Paint

Ornaments – ideally plastic

Small disposable cups

Styrofoam blocks (or something similar like a floral block)

Popsicle sticks

Kraft paper/butcher paper (or something similar to cover the working surface)

Directions:

1. Place the popsicle sticks into the styrofoam block.

2. Take the cap off of the ornament.

3. Flip the ornament upside down and place it on the popsicle stick.

4. Pour some red paint into the bottom of a cup.

5. Then pour in the same amount of white paint.

6. Repeat, and do not mix the paint.

7. By alternating the paint colors, you will create layers, while mixing them up will create a single color.

8. Pour the paint over the ornament slowly, working from one side of the ornament to the other.

9. Allow the paint to dry completely. This can take 24-48 hours.

10. Replace the top on the ornament and hang it.
