Shirley Bovshow gives her indoor plants a holiday makeover by adding an assortment of decorative touches to them- glittered stems and flowers, Christmas bells and more.

Make Shirley’s “Christmas Orchid Stake” to beautify your orchid plants.

MATERIALS

-Orchid stake

-Spray paint in gold, white, or silver

-Spray glue and regular glue

-Gold glitter (or color of choice) in both fine and chunky textures

-Small round styrofoam balls- insert a sturdy wire to hold while painting

-Star ornament or other “finial topper”

-Wired vine (optional) to attach along the stake for more texture

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Wrap the orchid stake with a wired vine and spray paint

2. Spray paint the styrofoam balls

3. Add spray glue to painted styrofoam balls and roll in glitter

4. Attach the finished “finial” balls to the stake and top with an ornamental star or add another ball

5. For more decorative detail, add another painted or glittered stem alongside the stake!
