Herb and Fruit Infused Water

Herb and Fruit Infused Water

Yield: All the recipes below are for one gallon of water

 

Ingredients:

Variety of citrus fruits (lemon, grapefruit, orange, blood orange, etc.)

Filtered, bottled, or good tap water

Herbs - mint, basil, rosemary

Spices - Cinnamon sticks, mulling spices (for the simmer potpourri)

 

1. Lemon-Ginger-Cinnamon Water:

 

Ingredients:

1 large sliced lemon with peel and pith removed

2 Cinnamon sticks

1/2 inch Ginger - peeled and thinly sliced. Muddle to release flavor

 

Directions:

1. Add ingredients to one gallon of filtered drinking water.

2. Infuse at room temperature for 1-2 hours, then cover and refrigerate until serving.

3. Add ice to pitcher when serving to keep fruit/water temperatures food safe and no warmer than 40* degrees.

 

2. Pink Grapefruit-Rosemary-Blueberry Water:

 

Ingredients:

1 large pink grapefruit, peel and pith removed

1-5 inch sprig of rosemary

1/2 cup of blueberries (cut in half to release flavor)

 

Directions:

1. Combine ingredients in water and follow directions above for infusion.

 

3. Lemon-Cucumber-Mint Classic Spa Water:

 

Ingredients:

1 large lemon sliced with peel and pith removed

1 Cucumber with bitter foam removed, sliced

1 handful of mint leaves, torn or muddled

 

Directions:

1. Combine ingredients in water and follow directions above for infusion.
