Thanksgiving Tablescape with Pop Overs

Emily Hutchinson

Recipe by: Florence Morgan, passed to great granddaughter, Emily Hutchinson

Yield: Makes 5 to 9 popovers depending on size of cup

Ingredients:

1 cup sifted all-purpose flour

½ tsp fine table salt

1 cup milk, 2% or whole

2 large eggs

Directions:

1. Beat ingredients together with rotary beater just until smooth.

2. Pour into well-greased, deep muffin cups ¾ full or oven glass cups ½ full.

3. Bake in hot oven at 425 degrees until deep golden brown and popped over, 20 to 25 minutes.

4. Serve immediately.

Tips from Emily:

After done baking, immediately turn them out onto a towel, make a small slit in the side to allow air to escape. This will help keep them crisp and minimize shrinking. My oven bakes very hot, every oven is different so after 20 minute mark, they should have popped up and over. If they are deep golden brown, remove from oven. If light golden brown, add the extra 5 minutes.

Enjoy this recipe,

Love my family
