DIY Faux Carmel Apples

Rachel Van Kluyve

Supplies:

Faux apples, color of your choice

Dowel Rod or Craft Stick of Choice

Regular Matte Modge Podge

Acrylic craft paint in color of choice, used here Cinnamon by Fold Art

Mixing Bowl

Rolled Oats

Cupcake liners if wanted

Fall Ribbon

Directions:

1. Start by removing the stems from your faux apples

2. Place the dowel rod or craft stick down into the hole created by the stem you removed

(Tip: you may have to cut your sticks in half based on how tall you want them to be)

3. Pour in your bowl a good amount of modge podge and then add just a bit less of acrylic paint and mix

(No need to measure it just needs to be sticky and the color you desire)

4. You can paint on the apple with a paint brush or dip your apple into the bowl by holding onto the dowel and spin until the paint and glue are covering the apple.

5. Set to dry for one minute. You don’t want it to dry completely, and you want it to set and be tacky for the oats.

6. Spring the oats on the apple evenly and place on your cupcake liner.

7. Add your ribbon as a fall touch

You can also add cut price tags and adhere them to the ribbon and dowel rod.

Also feel free to use get creative and pour on your mixture so make it look like your Carmel is dripping and or use differing colors of paint to look like vanilla or chocolate.

Have fun!
