Holiday Cinnamon Oatmeal

Danica McKellar

Ingredients:

2 apples (I prefer Granny Smith apples)

2 tbsp of maple syrup

2 cups of milk (I prefer almond)

1 tsp of cinnamon

2 cups of water

2 cups of old fashioned, rolled oats

Directions:

1. Chop 2 apples into cubes and add to a pot. Add 2 tbsp of maple syrup, half a cup of almond milk, and 1 tsp of cinnamon into the pot.

2. Cook the apples over medium heat, stirring until they get nice and soft. You may need to cover it and check on it a few times, stirring intermittently.

3. Take out about half the apples from the pot to make room for the oatmeal and keep to the side.

4. Add about 1 ½ cups of almond milk and 2 cups of water to the remaining apples in the pot. Note: Feel free to play around with these measurements to your liking (you can use just water or only almond milk - whatever you prefer - you just need about 3 ½ cups of liquid in the pot to cook the oats).

5. Add 2 cups of old fashioned, rolled oats to the pot and stir on low-medium heat until it is at your desired consistency.

6. Once cooked to your desired consistency, dish out your oatmeal into a bowl and top with the cooked apples you set aside.

7. Sprinkle some additional cinnamon on top and enjoy!
