Supplies:

Shells

White paint

Paintbrushes

Decoupage

Patterned napkins or tissue paper

Nail file or fine grit sandpaper

Gold paint

Directions:

1. Paint the pit of your shell white if needed and allow to dry completely.

2. Paint a thin layer of decoupage onto the inside of the shell.

3. Remove the second layer of the paper napkin if it exists.

4. Cut the napkins or tissue paper to a size larger than the shell but small enough to work with.

5. Place the napkins or tissue paper onto the wet adhesive and use your fingers to smooth it down so it lays as flat as possible.

6. Allow it to dry completely.

7. Once dried, pull away the excess material with your fingers.

8. Use your nail file or sandpaper to gently file the edge of the shell to remove the excess paper and smooth the edges.

9. Add another layer of the decoupage to seal the top of the design and allow to dry completely.

10. Use a paintbrush to paint the rim of the shell with gold paint.
