Debbie Matenopoulos

Yield: Makes 4 Danishes

Ingredients:

½ cup plum preserves

½ teaspoon nutmeg

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground cloves

¼ teaspoon salt

2 ounces cream cheese, room temperature

¼ cup powder sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 egg, beaten

1 tablespoon water

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, defrosted, divided into quarters

Directions:

1.     Position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 450 degrees F.

2.     In a medium bowl, mix together the plum preserves, nutmeg, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and salt until combined. Set aside.

3.     In another medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, powder sugar, and vanilla extract until combined. Set aside.

4.     In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water. Set aside.

5.     Place the puff pastry pieces into the wells of a muffin top pan and fill each with the cream cheese mixture followed by the plum preserve mixture. Fold the corners toward the center and gently press down. Brush the tops of the pastry with the egg mixture and bake until puffed up and golden brown, 14 to 16 minutes.

6.     Let cool for 10 to 15 minutes and enjoy!
